Hat

Making the hat block

Cover the ball with double sided tape.

Gather up one side of the hat straw by pulling on the cord in the straw.

Glue the straw around the ball.

When the hat is the desired size, cut the straw and fray-check the cut end.  Let the fray-check dry and glue the end to the hat.

Gloves

Trace the stitching lines onto tissue paper.

Fold down the top edge of the glove, WRST, fold the glove in half and pin the tissue paper to the glove.

Stitch the gloves.

I put a scrap piece of paper under the top of the gloves so it wouldn't gum up in the machine when I started sewing.

Rip the paper off the gloves.  Trim close to the seams and clip the corners.

Turn the gloves right side out.
